Provides the skills necessary for the fabrication of routine dental prosthetic appliances.
Additional Summary Specific to Job
Primary responsibilities include:
- Plaster Bench
- Pour, trim and identify all impressions for diagnostic, master, and repair (soldering) cast. Insure that counter tops, drawers, and general area are kept clean at all times.
- Once a week thoroughly clean plaster bench area, including counter tops, drawers, model trimmer, shelves, and work benches.
- Wax Room
- Mounting all articulated cases, including fixed cases for faculty members.
- Articulate (monitor inspection and maintenance)
- Construct full gold castings, including crowns, on lays, inlays and bridges.
- Construct porcelain fused to metal prosthesis.
- Keep personnel areas neat and clean at all times.
- Thoroughly clean personnel areas, including casting room and porcelain room.
- Fabricate custom trays for fixed prosthetic's, as needed.
Organizational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by formal training in dental laboratory prosthetic's.
Two years of experience or completion of a two year vocational dental technology program.
