Responsible for coordinating day-to-day, multifunctional business and administrative Department support, functions and/or staff and carrying out administrative responsibilities as established through departmental needs. Also, responsible for providing on-the-job training to all levels of support staff as needed.
Essential Job Functions
Perform multifunctional business and administrative functions for the Water Utilities Dept.
Respond to internal inquiries through answering telephone calls, e-mails or face-to-face communication.
Reconcile and review Accounts Payable reports for the Dept. Evaluate results and compose summaries for management staff.
Maintain interaction with vendors and City employees regarding invoice processing. Perform data entry, reconciliation of cash collection, and verification of payment authorization.
Analyze departmental accounting records of past spending and yearly budget records. Enter data for budget process.
Review and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices.
Provide support with travel arrangements, P-card reporting and preparation of expense report for Managing Director.
Assist Project Managers with record keeping and expenditure analysis to ensure Dept. support services meets its goals.
Preferred Knowledge - Abilities & Skills
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
4-6 years of experience in bookkeeping , accounting, finance and/or administrative work

Valid Class C Texas driver's license

Minimum Education & Work Experience
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
4 years related experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
