Job Description:
Shift: Days, 7:30am to 5:00pm or variation thereof

Workweek: FT, 32 hrs/week

Performs administrative and clerical duties in support of an assigned clinical area.

Greets patients and visitors, answers screens routes telephone calls, files, distributes mail and performs other clerical duties as assigned.
Communicates with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members about patient care according to protocol.
Types various reports and documents for unit staff. Photocopies and distributes and or files as necessary. Transcribes physicians' orders subject to the approval of a licensed nurse. Asks for clarification when necessary.
Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assembles and maintains patient charts.
Performs additional duties specific to departmental needs.

Formal Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Skill Requirements: Must be proficient in the use of office equipment and computer software programs, including Microsoft Office.
