Purpose of Position:
The Deputy Director of Adult Prisons has management and supervisory oversight of the Office of Offender Management services, Victim Services and Constituent Services. Furthermore, the position will have oversight of Unit Management within the facilities to enhance security and recidivism reduction efforts within all New Mexico Corrections Department prisons, public and private.
This position is a Pay Band 96.
Correctional Deputy Director of Adult Prisons
Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Guidance & Counseling, Penology, Police Science, Sociology, Social Work, Criminology and/or Business Administration and ten (10) years of experience in corrections of which five (5) years must have been supervisory or management. Experience in the areas of, social work, guidance and counseling, and/or law enforcement may substitute for up to five (5) years of the required experience in corrections. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience. This position is designated as safety sensitive.
