Under general supervision, performs responsible law enforcement functions as determined by the incumbent's position assignment including conducts general and complex criminal investigations, provide security in county courtrooms, serve civil and criminal warrants, serve as property/evidence room technician, issue alcohol permits, conduct new hire background investigations and or provide lead direction to subordinate employees and/or civilian employees, inmate services in the county detention center, transporting inmates to and from court, medical services, etc., and or providing lead direction to subordinate employees and/or civilian employees.
High School graduation or the equivalent is required. United States Citizen. Successful completion of in-depth background investigation. Successful completion of a polygraph examination. Successful completion of a physical/medical examination by a County appointed physician. Successful completion of a psychological examination by a County appointed psychologist. Successful completion of a physical agility test. Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid Georgia Driver's License. Georgia P.O.S.T. Certified.
