Responsible for the design, modeling, development and testing of a machine, structure or system. Develops functional requirements.
Understands and applies standard engineering principles.
Creates simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure or system operates.
Designs and tests components, and integrates components to produce final product.
Monitors quality of products and controls the efficiency of processes.
Evaluates a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Investigates root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements.
BS Electrical or Electronics Technology degree required.
3 to 5 years experience as Electrical Design Engineer with Schematics.
Self driven with a desire to get the job done.
Ability to make design decisions, document, and communicate the decision.
Has an understanding of typical areas we deal with in NSE (op amps, FETs, digital, control systems, etc.) and ability to pick up new ideas.
Experience with typical problems we see (EMI, low /high voltage design, low/high frequency) and ability to troubleshoot these problems.
Motor control experience with some software experience is a plus.
Fundamental electrical engineering knowledge.
Able to complete voltage and current budgets, aka stack-ups, a plus.
PCB design experience a plus.
