Automotive Design Engineer Position Summary:

Initiate, modify, analyze, and support development and release for automotive seating and interior products. Interact with other departments, customers, suppliers, and vendors to facilitate design project requirements. Support design improvement and problem solving situations.

Qualifications:

B.S. Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent of 1-5 years of Design Engineering experience within a manufacturing industry
· Experience with CAD parametric modeling and drafting (Catia v4/v5, SolidWorks, etc)
· Basic knowledge of design for manufacturing and information required for cost estimation
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Proficient in problem solving (creative and mechanical aptitude)
· Capability to travel (less than 10%) domestic and international as required

TS Tech Americas currently has opportunities for Automotive Design Engineers that will be located out of the Reynoldsburg, Ohio facility

Automotive Design Engineer Position Summary:

Initiate, modify, analyze, and support development and release for automotive seating and interior products. Interact with other departments, customers, suppliers, and vendors to facilitate design project requirements. Support design improvement and problem solving situations.

Primary Position responsibilities:
·
Maintain project schedules
· Utilize Catia v5 to create parametric models and other analytical data
· Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure manufacturability and proper implementation of design concepts
· Prepare technical documentation and project presentations
· Attend all project and design meetings as required and report appropriate information
· Support customers design and project management related requests (on-site as needed)
· Support prototype builds and product inspection as needed
· Attend all training as required
· Keep record of all hours (personal and project), overtime, and compensatory time
· Work on a measurable annual project and other job duties as assigned
Qualifications:
·

Essential skills and experience:
·
2D/3D parametric solid/surface modeling and drafting
· Basic knowledge or experience with FEA pre/post processing (Catia v5, Hypermesh, LS-Dyna, etc.)
· Strong engineering design and analysis skills (statics, dynamics, tolerance stack, DFMEA, FTA, and statistical analysis)
· Knowledge of automotive design and standards (JIS is preferred)
· Problem solving proficiency
· Strong oral and technical report documentation
· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Physical demands and work environment:
·
Environmental conditions –Open office environment. May be exposed to moderate noise levels.
· Vocal Communication—Required to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word and/or detailed or loud talking to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly.
· Hearing Perception—Ability to recognize information at normal spoken levels and/or ability to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or make fine distinctions in sound.
· Sensory Utilization—Prepare and analyze written or computer data.
· Physical Activities—Required to stand, walk and sit as well as use hands to finger, handle or feel. May occasionally reach with hands and arms. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. Significant computer utilization and occasional prototype build support.
· Visual Acuity—There are no special vision requirements.
