POSITION OBJECTIVE :
Work in a hands-on environment to develop Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and/or NVH analytical models for new & existing designs using the latest in engineering analysis tools.
Develop CAD skills and knowledge of company systems.
Work closely in a team atmosphere to provide new and innovative design solutions.
Conduct root cause analysis.
Work with the factory and suppliers to troubleshoot design concerns and bring new product to the marketplace.
Write, direct, and analyze results of tests on prototype and production machines.
Investigate customer complaints, concerns, and requests.
Develop application knowledge of new techniques, materials, and procedures beneficial to assigned product changes as directed.
Develop powertrain specifications to ensure compatibility with Original Equipment parts specifications, materials and construction.
Work with suppliers, Marketing, Sourcing, Product Teams and Product Quality Engineers to define component requirements.
Work with Service to identify root causes of quality related incidents by investigating incident parts and data.
Work with Aftermarket Parts & Service, Sales and Marketing team to assist in the development of product marketing materials.
Analyze assignments and determine engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for routine problems or projects.
Reduce customer warranty and improve product quality.
Collaborate with global facilities and international team on a daily basis.
Compile and document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.
Learn and apply company engineering policies and practices.
Execute test or analysis plan for product verification and validation.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering preferred. Accredited engineering program preferred. Ability to communicate technical data and project information. Ability to work independently with little supervision as well as in teams. Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and interpret advanced analysis results. Product design industry experience preferred in areas of engine emissions, finite element analysis, hydraulics, machine evaluation, powertrain systems (including heat exchangers and internal combustion engines), and structural analysis. Pro-E or CAD experience preferred. Basic job standards include: basic computer skills, a bility to follow written instructions.
