Assigned to Mining and Mineral processing operations, under general supervision, perform and check most types of calculations and design using both computer-aided and manual techniques. Provide assistance to the Lead Engineer, as requested, in the areas of schedules, estimates, progress reports, meetings, procurement, activities etc.

If serving in a Lead or Area Lead position, perform all or some of the following: organize/plan jobs, write/review specifications, prepare/maintain schedules, develop/monitor estimates and manpower forecasts, assign work, work with project/client/field, material procurement, permit, and subcontract activities. Utilize vendor data and work with personnel from other disciplines as required for the performance of designs. Perform squad check or vendor data and drawings from other disciplines.

Actively participate in, and maximize the use of, Fluor’s Knowledge Community and other available resources. Travel, as required, to ensure the successful execution of project and/or department goals. Attend external technical seminars and self-enroll in training courses for in-house management. Perform self-check of completed work, develop self confidence, and provide guidance to less experienced engineers. Exhibit thorough understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations and industry practices, etc. Assist, as required, in the development of department standards and procedures. Provide assistance, as required, in the areas of schedules, estimates, progress reports, material forecasts, meetings, procurement activities, etc. Basic Job Requirements An accredited Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design of Industrial Facilities. Refer to preferred section. Other Job Requirements MicroStation, AutoCAD, AutoPipe desirable Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer License (preferred)

4 years of experience in the engineering of mining plants (preferred)

Material Handling experience (preferred)

Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets.
