Responsibilities are to create designs and specifications for new agricultural equipment products and to build, test and evaluate component and composite prototypes ensuring that all design goals and requirements are met. Responsibilities will include some engineering project leadership.
Duties will include:
1.Assist in defining and determining feasibility of design concepts.
2.Prepare new product design layouts utilizing different approaches in order to aid management in deciding best course of action.
3.Support preparation of cost analysis in order to determine potential project costs.
4.Perform engineering calculations required to properly select or configure structural and functional components for function and durability.
5. Determine specifications for new items ranging from parts to high level assemblies insuring proper fit and function of all components in projected prototype/product.
6.Produce individual piece part sketches and CAD models, and oversee creation of drawings for all new parts required (both in-house and outsourced) in the project.
7.Communicate effectively with proto shop and manufacturing engineering personnel during prototype and pilot builds.
8.Analyze prototype and adjust designs as required before production build cycle begins.
9.Work with other participants in design, development and evaluation testing programs.
10.Conduct investigations and test as well as do layouts as required for any reported current production design problems or desired improvements.
Large equipment controls experience.
Engineer with some power train experience. This person should have 5 plus years experience with having owned several projects individually or as a team. Proven deliverables concept to customer shipment. Ultimately these engineers can own smaller projects or be significant contributors to larger projects as a team. They must understand managing our process but we willing to maintain an entrepreneurial and creative spirit.
o Structural ground-engaging equipment design with major weldments
o Hydraulic system design including component design
o Electronics monitors and controls experience
o Power train experience, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical
o Row crop/farm background
o Knowledge of welding/fabrication - practical
o Ideally one of these individuals would have European/ Eastern European experience with multiple language capability from that region.
o One engineer with European agricultural experience with would be very valuable.
