I. Position Summary
Designs PLC controls for unheading system.

II. Essential Job Function
· Designs PLC controls for unheading systems to ensure design details and drawings are in compliance with project specifications and/or established standards
· Prepares working plans and detailed drawings of complex components using verbal instructions, notes and specs
· Creates electrical circuits
· Specs parts
· Supervises the efforts of the design/drafting group to ensure that design details and drawings are in compliance with established standards
· Prepares labor estimates required to design, draft and document to customer and company requirements for bid and proposal activities
· Makes recommendations on ways to reduce material cost, manufacturing hours or improve the quality of the end product when alternate design concepts are developed
· Reviews the latest equipment and supplies available for efficient design and drafting activities
· Coordinates the drawing release review cycle for all original drawing releases
· Maintains safe working environment

III. Other Responsibilities
· Performs other job-related duties as assigned by management
· Understands and adheres to CW and TAS safety and ethics guidelines and policies
· Suggests new methods, procedures and work processes to continuously improve the project execution work processes (i.e. Lean initiatives)
· Balances team and individual responsibilities while working effectively and efficiently independently and with others
· Assures that all work activities performed on assigned projects are timely, accurate, high in quality and cost effective

IV. Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Educations and Experience
· Minimum of high school education, or equivalent, required
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering desired
· At least seven to nine years of related electrical PLC controls design/drafting experience, or equivalent, required
· Must have intermediate to advance knowledge of and experience using AutoCAD
· Basic computer skills (including MS Office)
· Strong organizational, analytical, communications and interpersonal skills
