Under minimal supervision, the Sr. Desktop/PC Support Specialist provides technical support of desktop computers, telephones, peripherals, applications, and related technology. This position is expected to handle more complex or advanced technical support. Answers user PC and software questions, serves as liaison with the Information Services Department, assists with software training, and troubleshooting hardware and software applications.
The Senior position also provides coaching and mentoring for the other Desktop/PC Support Specialists as needed.
Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology; or must have 4 years of direct experience in desktop support in lieu of degree (Bachelor's degree preferred)
3 years of experience in IT desktop support (5 years experience preferred)
Network+ certification required (ITIL and/or Six Sigma certification preferred)
Knowledge of c
onfiguration and troubleshooting of desktop PC/mobile device hardware and software (Windows and Mac OS);
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 Operating System, Microsoft Office 2010 and
IBM Lotus Notes; U
nderstanding of TCP/IP networking, and related network services (i.e. DNS, SMTP, DHCP, etc);
Experience with installation, configuration and troubleshooting of audio/visual equipment to include video/teleconferencing and projectors
