MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: A.A.S. Degree in CIS, A+ Certification or equivalent specialized training required.
Two years experience with the following:
Microcomputer hardware and software support; Windows OS required. Macintosh OS strongly preferred
Supporting desktop technologies in a medium to large size network environment, academic environment preferred
Customer service experience
WORK WEEK: Flexible scheduling required days, evenings and weekends.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Deliver expert quality support services, covering a broad spectrum of PC compatible and Macintosh compatible desktop hardware and software, to the faculty, staff, and students in a networked environment, while providing superior, professional customer service. This includes Level 1 service desk support, technology consultations with end users, training and mentoring of service desk staff, learning and implementing new technology, and providing other technology support as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide hardware components support, including installation of modular components and peripherals
Provide classroom and staff software support
Assist with the implementation and maintenance of security measures
Provide printer and printer connectivity support
Provide network connectivity support, coordinating with the network support staff
Analyze and optimize desktop performance, coordinating with the network support staff
Install and configure storage devices, including internal and external drives
Periodic assignment to information security support
Assist other IT departments on system and hardware upgrades and major projects.
Assist with data entry in a variety of user support databases
Provide mobile computing support
Additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Adequate vision and motor skills required for delicate component installation and repair work
Specialized knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting techniques
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure, working on several projects and activities simultaneously while remaining organized and focused
Ability to work with minimum supervision and direction
Ability to bend and reach
Ability to safely lift 50 lbs, unassisted
Ability to provide quality telephone customer service
Ability to use computing devices and peripherals for extended periods of time
Able to perform all of the essential functions, skills and abilities of the position
Minimum Salary Range:
$32,012 Minimum Annual Salary
