Join Amazon Flexible Payments as a Developer Support Engineer and you'll provide support to external customers as they build business-critical applications on Amazon’s Flexible Payments Service ( http://payments.amazon.com , http://aws.amazon.com/fps/).

As a Developer Support Engineer, you'll represent Amazon and Flexible Payments (FPS) as you manage and resolve technical inquiries from customers that want help using our services. You'll also work directly with Amazon Flexible Payments engineers to ensure that customer issues are resolved as expediently as possible. In addition, your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

* Working with customers to debug and resolve integration problems
* Driving customer communication during FPS critical events
* Driving projects that improve support-related processes and our customer's developer support experience

Qualifications:

* Web services (SOAP, REST, WSDL, XML)
* Programming / scripting (Java, Perl, Ruby, HTML, C#, and/or PHP)
* A strong understanding of at least one of the programming/scripting languages listed.
* Experience debugging/developing sites that use API and SDK design integration

Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong customer focus, the ability to juggle many tasks and projects in a fast-moving environment, and must be a self-starter who is excited about technology.

A degree in computer science, IST, IS, IT, or equivalent experience, is required. Candidates with experience working directly with customers, and with flexible work schedules (weekends, shifts) are preferred.

Basic Qualifications
- 1 to 3 Years in a Technical Support or Developer role working with Web applications or languages listed (Java, Perl, Ruby, HTML, C#, and/or PHP)and HTML

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.

Working knowledge or experience developing software using the following
* Web services (SOAP, REST, WSDL, XML)
* Programming / scripting (Java, Perl, Ruby, HTML, C#, and/or PHP)and HTML
* A strong understanding of at least one of the programming/scripting languages listed.
* Experience debugging/developing sites that use API and SDK design integration

Preferred Qualifications

- Intuitive grasp of superior versus inferior customer experiences, and how to improve them. Closing the contact does not always close the problem.

- Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and ambiguous information to generate innovative solutions in an extremely fast-paced environment.

- Outstanding speaking, writing, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to persuade, inspire, and motivate others.

- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities.
