Development Director (Greater Los Angeles and Orange County)

We have an excellent opportunity for a Development Director for our Greater Los Angeles and Orange County Divisions. The position could be based either in our Downtown Los Angeles or Orange County (Irvine) office .
The Director will work on fundraising campaigns for the 2 offices with a focus on managing and implementing the Start (Half Marathon) Training Program, including recruitment of program participants and volunteer coaches, to achieve the net fundraising goal of $230,000 .
Primary responsibilities for Start Training include: recruit and train volunteer coaches andother leadership volunteers ; recruits, trains and motivates participants to achieve or exceed fundraising minimum ; coordinates the ongoing logistics and planning of program. Other fundraising responisibilities may include volunteer recruitment, sponsorship solicitation, and event execution.
Qualified candidates need to have :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
2-3 years successful fundraising, outside sales or marketing experience
Ability to recruit, train and manage volunteers; ability to delegate and accomplish goals through volunteers .
Highly effective organizational, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
Self-starter able to work well in a team driven environment
Willing and able to travel. Must have valid driver’s license, auto insurance and personal vehicle or other reliable means of transportation to effectively manage territory which includes Greater Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
Willing and able to work evenings and weekends as needed. Based on training schedule the position will work approximately 10 Saturdays within a 5-month period.
