The USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences Office of Advancement is seeking an Associate Dean to lead its major gifts efforts. The incumbent is charged with acquiring significant funding while managing a team of development officers. The purpose of this team is to secure gifts that will provide the necessary resources in support of the college's $750 million campaign.

Job responsibilities:
Effectively lead and manage the major gifts program of USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, including a team of six major gift officers.

Responsible for soliciting gifts of $100,000 or more from alumni and non-alumni friends of USC Dornsife with an emphasis on seven figure gifts and above.

Manage relationships with approximately 150 prospective donors including the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major donor prospects.

Work collaboratively with, and in support of, volunteers, development and advancement staff, and USC Dornsife academic leadership to cultivate and solicit donors for college-wide priorities.

Monitor all aspects of prospect moves management by the major gifts team to ensure positive and purposeful prospect and donor relations.

Recommend and assist with prospect programming involving the President, Provost, Dean and campaign volunteer leaders.

Must be a highly energetic professional with a track record of building donor relationships and have the ability to secure gifts in the six to eight figure range.

Reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Advancement and works collaboratively and strategically with the Dean, Vice Deans, other fundraising professionals, faculty, and other campus leaders.

Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of seven years successful experience in major or planned gift fundraising associated with higher education

Ability to understand the needs and interests of leadership and major gift donor prospects in order to develop meaningful relationships between them and USC Dornsife

Interest in all aspects of education and a dedication to promoting the USC Dornsife's fundraising priorities through the development of excellent relationships with faculty, senior academic leaders, volunteers, and the advancement office team

Demonstrated leadership and the ability to successfully manage multi-functional or diverse areas

Successful experience in making six and seven figure solicitations, as well as developing effective cultivation and stewardship strategies

Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of completing assignments

Must be willing to travel
