Under the direction of the Ultrasound Supervisor and/or radiologist, performs a variety of ultrasound procedures, including invasive procedures.
Graduate of approved AMA school of radiological technology (R.T.) and an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program and considered registry eligible by the ARDMS.
Graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program and considered registry eligible by the ARDMS.
Registered Radiologic Technologist ( R.T.) with on-the-job training in diagnostic ultrasound and considered registry eligible by the ARDMS.
Required: Medical and/or hospital clinical experience required. Basic computer experience required (1-2 years work experience or college level classes). Prior experience in Ultrasound or an intensive on-the-job training session in Ultrasound is required before taking call.
Preferred: Prior hospital and/or physician office background
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
One of the following:
(1) ARRT and RDMS certified.
(2) RDMS certified.
(3) RDMS registry eligible (certification within 1 year)
Department Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Ultrasound Supervisor and/or radiologist, performs a variety of ultrasound procedures, including invasive procedures. This position requires independent judgment and initiative in utilization of ultrasound equipment to create high quality images. Strict adherence to the Radiology Weekend Team Policy regulating working hours and time-off.
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive care appropriate to the age of the patients seen in the Women's Center.
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
