Purpose of Position

This position provides dietary and nutritional requirements for children and youth with specific healthcare needs in the Northeast Region of New Mexico. The position provides consultation to families and communities throughout the 10 counties of the NE Region (Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, Los Alamos, Taos, Guadalupe, Mora, Union, Colfax, San Miguel and Harding).

This position is a Pay Band 65.

Classification Description:

Dieticians and Nutritionists-Advanced

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Dietetics, Home Economics, Family and Consumer Science or other Health degree with a minimum of nine (9) semester hours in Food Science or Nutrition and two (2) years experience in Food Service, Dietetics or other health field. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid NM Drivers License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Successful completion of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act) training.
