As Dining Assistant: Provides timely and reliable support for the food preparation and stocking and cleaning functions of Swarthmore’s dining/cafeteria services. Ensures the availability of clean and sanitary supplies of dishes, glassware, trays and utensils throughout each meal period. Maintains and sanitizes the dish machine. Ensures a clean and sanitary dining service facility. Provides food items to food lines, salad bars, condiment bars, dessert areas, and grill areas throughout the meal period. Ensures that beverage stations are filled with product and glassware throughout the meal period.
As Cashier: Greets customers when entering and accepts cash, dining card or other transactions in order to access dining hall. Sets up bread, cereal, bagels and condiments when necessary. Cuts and stores fresh fruit for breakfast. Wipes tables and chairs at end of meal period. Disposes of trash left at tables and returns dishes, cups and trays to the dishmachine when left behind by customers. Maintains work space. Rings food sales on cash register and provide receipts to customers. Settles cash receipt accounts at the end of shift. Stocks paper goods for service. Acts as a public relations representative for dining services.
