Job Summary/Essential Functions
With expanding enrollment and academic opportunities at our Riverpoint/Spokane campus, Eastern Washington University seeks an experienced professional to provide proactive leadership to develop and deliver high quality, comprehensive student services.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Director of Student Services at Riverpoint oversees a one-stop service center that facilitates financial transactions, registration, financial aid, and course support services. Through this central facility, the Director also coordinates with colleagues to deliver support services that include tutoring, counseling, disability support/accommodations, health/wellness programs, recreational opportunities, and student activities.
The Director is the Student Affairs presence on a growing campus of over 2,000 EWU students, primarily upper division and graduate students, whose studies focus on the health professions, business, and a master's program in creative writing. The Director of Student Services is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing student programs at the Riverpoint location, as well as fostering collaborations with the WSU campus partner co-located at Riverpoint.
Supervise service staff and ensure excellent customer service and accountability.
Plan, implement, and evaluate activities to ensure smooth functioning of enrollment processes and student activities.
Collaborate with campus partners to provide services and facilities to new, returning, and transfer students to promote student learning and development.
Manage and coordinate multiple projects and meet critical deadlines, including facilitating course support services as needed.
Counsel and advise students.
Ensure compliance with Federal financial aid and records management principles and regulations.
Communicate effectively and foster positive community relations.
Facilitate consistent and accurate reporting to enable agile planning.
Conditions of Employment
This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt or, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. Master's degree in education, management, business, student affairs, counseling, finance, or related field.
Minimum of three years full-time experience in program supervision/management, to include staff supervision and budget administration.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Experience utilizing standard MS Office tools.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and community members.
Ability to utilize web based and social media tools, as well as database management products; and
Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.
Student Information System experience in Banner or related system
