- Youth Direct Care Workers:
Direct care workers, called counselors at Cunningham, provide care and supervision to the youth in our therapeutic residential programs. This includes overseeing care of the youth at night, assisting with problem solving, general organization and tidiness of the residential unit, and other similar tasks with a team of counselors and supervisors. All youth have a treatment program which our counselors use to direct their interactions with the youth. All youth are in our residential treatment facility to address significant behavioral and mental health challenges. Experience working with youth with these challenges is preferred. A strong candidate possesses patience, the desire to contribute to a team environment, personal responsibility and integrity, and the ability to maintain an organized environment. Previous experience in a similar environment is preferred. Two shifts available: 7pm – 7am: Bachelor’s Degree in a human service area is required; 9pm – 9am: High School diploma required. Hourly pay range is $10.75 - $13.20 depending on experience.
Extensive training will be provided. Ability to document mental health services using a customized computer program required. Prospective employees must be at least 21, have excellent written and oral communication skills, possess a valid Illinois driver's license that has not been suspended in the previous three years, proof of auto insurance, and must be able to maintain our client’s confidentiality.
