About the Team:

The Huffington Post Operations team manages the day-to-day and long-term initiatives related to advertising inventory monetization and campaign operations, commercial publishing and native advertising products, audience and advertising research and analytics, and executive business metrics and reporting. This team reports to the CEO of The Huffington Post, Jimmy Maymann, and is tasked with driving critical business initiatives for revenue growth.

The Huffington Post pioneered brand publishing before the term “native advertising” became popular, and the Native ad product team helps advertisers create highly differentiated concepts and content to engage with their audience and demonstrate the core values and mission of their brand.

About the Role:

In this high-impact role, you’ll report to the Vice President, Operations of The Huffington Post Media Group and lead the Native ad product team.

Responsiblities:

Define an implement Native ad product strategy, namely

*Benchmark existing competitive offerings and identify opportunities

*Define Huffington Post Native ad positioning and revenue opportunity

*Create product roadmap, define requirements, and work with Tech to implement

*Define and track KPIs to measure success of the strategy

*Explore audience trends and segment advertiser needs (e.g., by category, size, marketing objective); Identify key customer targets and define a plan to capture spend

Influence Sales to propose integrated programs to advertisers

*Identify key target customers and define value proposition

*Collect relevant performance metrics, build case studies and sales materials, train sales and be a product evangelist

Supervise and lead execution of HuffPost Native ad campaigns, partnerships and impact programs

*Participating in and lead creative brainstorm sessions

*Creating and launching custom editorial content for advertisers

*Organizing the launch of creative campaigns with the sales and advertising ops teams

*Optimizing content performance during the campaign

*Maximizing the impact of inventory on the site

*Reporting on the effectiveness of each campaign using proprietary tools

*Identify and drive initiatives to improve existing Native ad processes e.g., RFP response, campaign launch, reporting

*Work with edit on Conceptualizing and overseeing the creation and implementation of sponsored content for digital advertisers based on their goals and values.

Requirements:

*Curious and analytical, with strong math and logic skills; a self-started problem-solver

*Organized and detail-oriented, a good planner who can prioritize and find the critical path

*Driven by results and getting things done

*Independent and self-sufficient, but know when to ask for help and keep supervisor informed

*Service-oriented, able to build relationships, work with people from diverse backgrounds, and make compromises

*You have strong editorial sensitivity, are a regular info-junkie and consumer of blogs, trends, social media

*Needless to say, a hard worker

*Bachelor’s Degree preferably in a quantitative discipline. Master or MBA a plus, but not required

*Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in digital advertising in a product management or strategy capacity

*Additional 2-3 years’ experience in a business role or in management consulting a plus

*Experience working and influencing Sales, Technology and Editorial teams

*Deep knowledge of online advertising and publishing formats and platforms, industry standards, and the competitive ecosystem

*Experience conducting market analysis and converting into business requirements or defining and launching new products, features or processes

*Must be an excellent communicator and have the ability to translate editorial and technical concepts to less savvy stakeholders clearly and persuasively
