Job Summary:
The Vice President of Product Management is accountable for the profitable growth of Spirent’s flagship products in the Cloud/Datacenter, Service Provider, Enterprise Networking and Security market segments. She/he will lead the Product Management Organization in gathering, prioritizing and translating market and customer needs to develop optimized portfolio investment decisions and differentiated product requirements. This leader must work collaboratively with Customers, Sales, Segment Marketing, Global Services and Engineering. This position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Product Management Team: Other duties may also be assigned as needed.
• Work with Segment Marketing to establish overall strategies across the product portfolio.
• Define the product line roadmap and manage product line lifecycles.
• Work closely with customers on developing product requirements and use cases for each product line.
• Collaborate with the R&D organization to plan and manage product and solution releases to the relevant market segments.
• Collaborate with segment marketing, marketing communications, sales and services to successfully launch new products and capabilities to the market.
• Collaborate with sales, services team to rapidly respond to customer escalations.
• Manage the profit and loss of our flagship products (Spirent TestCenter, Landslide, Avalanche, iTest and Studio).
• Establish and communicate successful product pricing and discounting strategies.
• Thoroughly understand the competitive landscape.
• Prepare and present business cases for new products projects and releases.
• Eliminate internal roadblocks to facilitate on time execution and releases of products and solutions.
• Develop and provide detailed product line forecast to Operations.
• Develop technical content for product and solutions data sheets, application notes, and for feature articles. Assist with the development of users’ manual, online help, press releases, public relations, internal and external newsletters.
• Assist with technical support, sales support, creation of business plans, and generation of training materials for customers and sales meetings.

• Minimum 10 years leading a product management and/or product marketing team within a test and measurement company.
• Broad technology industry expertise, strategic insight and ability to understand from a technical perspective markets evolution.
• Strong business and financial analysis acumen, versed in preparing and communicating business cases to senior executives.
• A passion for technology, with proven ability to set and execute strategy that moves products to market success.
• Ability to keep the focus of a large and diverse group on the success factors of a product.
• Demonstrated success defining and launching successful technology products.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Self-starter who needs little day to day direction and consistently delivers on time and meets and exceeds MBOs.
• Proven ability to influence cross functional teams without formal authority.
• Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills a must.
• Experience in software and hardware development processes.
• A technical degree plus MBA and 10 years experience in test and measurement product marketing is strongly preferred.
• Travel up to 25% and occasional early morning or late evening calls with teams located globally.
