Summary

Provides strategic leadership and direction to enable robust information technology planning and comprehensive governance around I.T. spend, policies, projects and value. Ensures alignment of I.T. initiatives with overall CSC business objectives and strategies to achieve optimum value from I.T. investments and deliver on corporate strategic goals. Ensures coordination of global business processes to achieve a congruent business architecture which can be supported by a cost effective set of I.T. systems. Serves as the focal point for I.T. Risk Management activities and partners with Enterprise Risk Management. Provides management of I.T. cost allocations in via a comprehensive I.T. services catalog. Coordinates with other groups in the Business Technology Organization to ensure comprehensive planning & governance processes via inclusion of all relevant inputs and perspectives. Serves as a key spokesperson for the Business Technology team with internal stakeholders and CSC clients, partners and suppliers. Creates a showcase I.T. Planning & Governance functional area, which serves to build CSC brand equity as well as helps client sales, marketing and delivery teams with client relationships.

Essential Job Functions

Description

  • Creates and manages a comprehensive IT governance mechanism to ensure CSC senior leadership engagement on and approval of IT priorities, policies, programs and spend.
  • Serves as a key contributor to the corporate strategic planning process, ensuring business technology initiatives help drive CSC’s corporate strategy and enable efficient and effective global business processes
  • Manages an effective I.T. risk management process, driving participation from all areas of Business Technology and partnering closely with the I.T. Security team and Enterprise Risk Management
  • Provides assurance of IT value for money through periodic reviews of competitive benchmarks, internal value analyses, program business case reviews and program post-mortem value assessments
  • Ensures IT costs are fairly allocated based on consumption of services via creation of a comprehensive IT service catalog
  • Prepares and manages the IT investment portfolio through creation of a portfolio management mechanism and program management oversight processes
  • Responsible for successful delivery of an annual project spend of approximately $100M
  • Ensures quality sourcing of project management resources from the appropriate service provider and provides project governance through program management oversight
  • Maintains a comprehensive listing of IT policies and authors all general IT policies
  • Manages a cross-functional business process council to ensure coordination and alignment of all global business processes
  • Works with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure alignment between the business process architecture and all relevant technology architectures (applications, data and infrastructure)
  • Coordinates with the Business Relationship Management team to ensure local, regional and line-of-business requirements are included, as appropriate, in overall IT priorities, policies, programs and spend
  • Coordinates with the Applied Innovation Programs team to ensure inclusion of innovation programs in the overall investment portfolio
  • Coordinates with the Applications and Infrastructure Services Management teams to ensure service management considerations are accounted for within programs
  • Coordinates with other groups within the Business Technology organization to ensure I.T. planning is comprehensive
  • Coordinates with the Office of the CTO and manages external IT Research firms (Gartner, Forrester, etc.) to ensure the Business Technology organization is aware of relevant best practices and emerging trends
  • Serves as a key spokesperson for the Business Technology function and/or CSC business with key internal stakeholders or external clients/partners/suppliers, as appropriate, to demonstrate best practices or showcase CSC capabilities
  • Manages a staff of approximately 15 resources, including business analysts, business architects and program managers
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Description

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Master's degree in related field preferred

Relevant industry certifications such as ISACA CGEIT, PMI PMP, ITIL desired

Ten or more years of related experience in the Information Technology industry with a focus on creation of IT strategy, IT governance mechanisms and Portfolio Management processes

Five or more years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity

Five or more years of experience with business process improvement projects, including development of global business architectures

Experience working in a global organization of size, scope and complexity

Experience working in a technology and/or services intensive business

Experience working with the management implications of various forms of financial data

Experience working with cutting-edge technologies, business development, product life-cycle planning, and delivery of information technology systems

  • Exceptional executive presence to influence a diverse set of stakeholders including CSC senior executives, CSC staff, key business partners and external customers
