Director - Annual Giving
University of Massachusetts Lowell
The Director of Annual Giving will provide leadership and management for the annual giving program to achieve the desired annual fundraising results for the University, and oversee all annual giving solicitations, including direct mail, phonathon, email and face-to-face meetings. This is a full-time, benefited position. Salary is commensurate with experience.
The Director of Annual Giving will also: Manage the execution of direct mail, phone and electronic solicitations through targeted segmentations to achieve set annual goals for dollars and donors for the University. Oversee and execute annual fundraising strategies for key constituents; alumni, leadership giving, reunion, young alumni, faculty/staff, friends and parents. Oversee the implementation and growth of the University's leadership giving society. Oversee the development of solicitation letters, brochures and other publications to enhance solicitation and stewardship efforts. Coordinate annual fundraising strategies with other department leaders in constituents relations/major gifts, alumni relations, corporations/foundations, athletics and advancement services. Develop and facilitate a pattern of annual support for the University for donors. Collaborate with other members of the University Advancement team. Provide leadership in the development of staff and specialized programs for the Lowell Fund, phonathon, Annual Donor Honor Roll and special events. Develop creative acknowledgement and recognition of donors through correspondence, printed materials, and University publications. Promote the University's commitment to customer service by: Building effective partnerships with co-workers throughout the University by freely sharing appropriate information and providing assistance when needed; ensuring optimum service to all internal and external partners in response to all requests for service and information; maintaining an environment that is welcoming to persons of all backgrounds, nationalities, and roles; other related duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor of Advancement and/or Director of Administration.
-Minimum of 6-9 years relevant experience in fundraising, preferably in higher education
-The ability to work effectively with diverse groups
-Masters degree preferred
-Candidates must possess exceptional interpersonal skills to work with colleagues, donors and prospects
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to facilitate work with a wide range of individuals and groups from culturally diverse populations
-Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely and effective manner
-Experience in higher education fundraising
-Comfortable working with a diverse group of constituents and the level of ambiguity that comes from a growing environment
