    JOB SUMMARY: The Cancer Center Director reports to the Vice President of Clinic Operations and is responsible for Mercy Cancer Center’s strategic planning, clinical, financial and service performance related to cancer services. Develops and maintains a strong relationship with the physicians and identifies areas for business opportunity and support. Develops and maintains data on market share costs, profitability and competitor data. Understands ACoS Cancer Program Accreditation guidelines. Develops and implements business plans for growth of the services, building of physician and network relationships and referrals; achieving top patient satisfaction scores; attaining high quality outcomes; and providing patient centered care. C oordinates services throughout the continuum of care and works as an integral and significant contributor to Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa leadership.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in health or business administration with undergraduate focus in a clinical field of health care preferred, or m ust be willing to complete Master’s Degree within 3 - 5 years of hire. Previous Cancer Center and/or Director level experience preferred. 4 - 6 y ears progressively responsible health care related work experience, with at least 3 years in a management role required. Thorough knowledge of the health care system, and specific knowledge of clinic operations preferred. Requires a strong understanding of financial principles and practices. Acts as a catalyst for change to continuously improve existing systems and add new programs and services to better meet the needs of our customers. Previous experience with Lean principles preferred. Excellent communication skills, including written and public speaking. Knowledge and support for the principles of customer service. Computer skills commensurate with job function requirements. Completes Mandatory Reporting requirement within 6 months of hire. Renews Mandatory Reporting requirement every 5 years.
