  • Chaplaincy Services (SOCH): The Director of Chaplaincy Services position encompasses the Director of the Spiritual Care Department as well as Clinical Pastoral Education Department. Plans, develops, directs and manages the departments, programs, personnel, budget, goals and accountabilities. Oversees and ensures the provision of spiritual care to patients/residents, their loved ones, and, as appropriate, to staff. Responsible for daily operations across two campuses including satellite ministries for primary care and chemical dependency services while ensuring adequate staff levels, quality service and 24/7 access to chaplain services. Ensures the ongoing development of the Manager, Clinical Pastoral Education position and continually supports the integration of CPE and Spiritual Care Services.

    Communicates and provides liaison with the faith community. Serves as a resource person to the Catholic Health Senior Vice President of Mission and Mission Leadership to develop strategies to integrate spiritual care into the care continuum.

    SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM):

    Educational Requirements:
    ·
    Master's degree in theology or related field required.
    · Certified (or eligible for certification) as Board Certified Chaplain by either the National Association of Catholic Chaplains or the Association of Professional Chaplains required.
    · Ordained or commissioned by one's faith group or denomination. Denominational endorsement required.
    · Certification as a CPE Supervisor or an Associate Supervisor by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) preferred.
    Experience Requirements:
    · Three years of pastoral, supervisory and administrative experience in CPE program and/or department of pastoral care required.
    · One year pastoral experience in church or institution required.
    · Experience working with multicultural and diverse religious backgrounds is highly desirable.
    · Two years supervisory experience as a Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor preferred.
    Knowledge, Skills Ability:
    · Skills in crisis intervention.
    · Ability to provide pastoral care and spiritual support in a high stress environment.
    · Organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills
    · Knowledge of regulatory requirements appropriate for the position
    · Skills in pastoral research and spiritual assessment.
    · Ability to analyze data for performance improvement activities.
    · Understands the importance of working as a team both within and outside the department.
    · Cooperative relationship with persons of varying faith traditions or of no tradition.
    · Knowledge of and support for the Ethical and Religious directives for Catholic Health Facilities.
    · Strong spiritual maturity.
    · Ability to maintain professional and personal confidentiality and HIPAA Regulations.
    · Ability to be assertive yet flexible.
    · Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    · Ability to implement the institution’s mission and philosophy as it relates to the Spiritual Care Department.
