CUSTOMERS SERVED: All employees and staff of Las Palmas and Del Sol Medical Center in both clinical and non-clinical departments, including patient/families, physicians, volunteers, agency, contract, students and the community served.

POPULATION SERVED: Cardiovascular Services serves a multicultural patient population with potential, suspected, or confirmed cardiovascular disease. Our community has a high prevalence of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and renal disease. Care planning is individualized based on the patient’s assessed needs.

POSITION SUMMARY : The Director is responsible for the care given to patients within Cardiovascular Services: day to day departmental operations and productivity; future development and budgetary projections for the service line. The Director ensures Cardiovascular Services maintains the highest degree of efficiency and safety in providing quality care in all invasive and non-invasive procedures including quality improvement, staff competency, inventory control and cost containment, patient satisfaction, staff satisfaction, and physician satisfaction. The Director collaborates and coordinates the efforts of Cardiovascular Services staff to accomplish the mission of Del Sol Medical Center. The Director leads by example and holds others accountable for adhering to the goals, policies, and procedures of Del Sol Medical Center. Areas of responsibility include Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, EKG/Stress, Echo/Vascular, and Heart Recovery Unit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Develops and administers adult and geriatric services as necessary to include critical care nursing.

2. Promotes a multidisciplinary coordination of services, such as, nursing, medical, respiratory care, laboratory, pharmaceutical and public relations.

3. Develop, monitor, appraise and analyzes budgetary goals and outcomes within the CVS departments.

4. Develops plan, in conjunction with Administrative Director, for capital resources required to maintain quality care in CVS

5. Administers and appraises Quality Improvement and Customer Satisfaction within the services provided.

6. Controls processes related to Human Resources; inclusive of hiring, evaluating, terminating, counseling, coaching and development of the staff.

7. Directs and approves the practice of professional nursing and support positions within the services provided to maintain quality patient care and superior customer service through implementation and evaluation of clinical practice standards.

8. Develops, interprets, inspects and reviews policies and procedures within the services provide.

9. Develops, institutes, reviews and implements disaster preparedness policies and procedures for the organization within the services provided.

10. Collaborates, develops and participates in marketing of the CV service line, including educational program offerings.

11. Responsible for twenty four-hour coverage and problem resolution to the services provided.

12. Maintenance of Chest Pain Accreditation requirements.

13. Maintenance of the ICD, Cath PCI, ACC-NCDR data collection and submission.

14. Actively participates and attends the Regional Advisory Council’s (RAC) CVS subcommittee meetings.

17. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS

1. Basic Cardiac Life Support.

2. Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

1. Bachelor Degree in related field,

2. Excellent management, communication and problem solving skills and ability to execute all duties and responsibilities as outlines in job classification

3. Minimum of 2 years experience in specialty.

4. Supervisory experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

1. Masters Degree preferred

2. Registered Nurse or Registered Radiologic Technologist preferred
