Demonstrates consistent awareness of individual patient conditions and unit acuity levels.Is accountable for overseeing Departmental/ Hospital PI activity, which includes timely collection of data, analysis, recommendations for improvement and evaluation of actions taken.Communicates regularly with Supervisor/ Chief Nursing Officer to gather data, provide consideration, insure consistency in implementation of policies and procedures.Assumes responsibility during emergencies. Is available to direct and guide personnel.Demonstrates sound independent decision making by the ability to assess situations from a variety of perspectives, consider alternatives and choose the most appropriate course of action.Demonstrates effective communication and problem solving skills with peers, subordinates and superiors and fosters teamwork.Maintains overall accountability/ responsibility for staffing the unit during all hours of operation.Demonstrates an understanding of the process of change and takes the initiative in planning and implementing change.Maintains appropriate staffing levels within budgeted man hours/Stat. Monitors annual budget.Assures department compliance with JCAHO and all applicable agencies (local, state and federal) daily.Must have Active FL RN LicenseBachelors Degree required, Masters Degree preferred3-5 years experience as an RN3-5 years of Supervisor experienceMust have current ACLS and PALS
