Director, Food Service LTC – Food Service (SFW/FBM):

Provides effective and efficient functioning of the Food Service Department at the St. Francis Williamsville and Father Baker Manor sites. Responsible for the administration of the plan of operations in accordance with the facility policies and procedures and the highest professional standards as required by the Federal, State and Local governing agencies .

REPORTS TO: Direct Report to the Director, Food and Nutrition Services Long Term Care; and

Matrix Report to Administrator of St. Francis Williamsville and Father Baker Manor sites.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

All Food Service employees

SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM):

Educational Requirements :

· Associates Degree in Food Services, Dietary Management or related field required

· Bachelors Degree in Food Services, Dietary Management or related field preferred

· Serve Safe Certification required

Experience Requirements:

· Five (5 ) years experience in a Director of Food Service position in a Long Term Care Facility or Food Service Department

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

· Should possess knowledge of clinical responsibilities

· Interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with all levels of unit personnel, as well as residents, families, and visitors.

· Possesses active listening skills and planning skills to develop goals and objectives and implements action plans to meet those goals.

· Analytical ability to identify opportunities for improvements, as well as positive problem resolution.

· Teaching abilities to promote optimum orientation and continuing education of staff.

· Budgeting skills to control fiscal operations of selected units and/or area (s) of responsibility and to identify and explain variances.

· Has current knowledge of State, Federal regulations as well as health care trends and issues and relates it to work area.

· Communication skills which may be inclusive of approach, tone of voice, speed of communication, respectfulness and non verbal communication. · Knowledge of the operations of Word /Excel software

· Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Occasional prolonged standing, walking, sitting, lifting and carrying

· Works in varying atmosphere temperatures ranging from 0-90 degrees Fahrenheit
