eHealthInsurance is looking for a talented Director of Product Management to drive the conceptual and technical evolution of the eHealth Platform. The Platform is the core enabling element that allows eHealth to provide a set of common services that will be used by internal teams and customers to create, deploy and operate the next generation of health and health related exchange products.

The Director of Product Management will work closely with Architecture and Engineering teams, Product Management, and Sales and Marketing to guide the development of core platform functions and common product offerings. You will be responsible for driving both evolutionary and revolutionary change to our platform. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in product management of SaaS products, a deep understanding of customer and technical needs, and have the ability to build great platform products.

Create, execute and communicate the multi-year roadmap; proactively conceive, document and drive the creation of new features to achieve our product goals.

Priortize product enhancements as well as customer and partner requests by making smart, decisive tradeoffs using data-driven analysis and sound judgement.

Provide mentoring and guidance for the product and technology by participating in discussions and design reviews across the organizations.

The initial focus will be to evaluate and participate in an architecture review of our existing platform and related software and services infrastructure. This will provide the foundation to lead the charge to advance the platform to solve new challenges and leverage new technologies.

This role will not have any direct reports initially, but may over time.

Bachelor’s degree in either a technology or business discipline

At least 7 years technical product management, product development, or technical professional services

experience (must possess a solid understanding of the product development lifecycle and product

management processes)

Demonstrted knowledge of SaaS product, architecture and deployment concepts

Experience building scalable, self-service SaaS applications

In depth knowledge of eCommerce tactics and customer-centric design

Strong knowledge of the eCommerce ecosystemand fluency with commonm web technologies

Demonstrated ability to differentiate between and build "Platforms" vs "Products" with experience

managing the develop0ment of internally used platforms and services

Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results on technical projects

Exceptional strategic thinking and prioritization skills

Ability to create a winning roadmap to achieve business goals while making difficult tradeoff decisions

Aptitude to make recommendations and decisions independently

Experience selling ideas to managementand making convincing arguments for the direction of products and platforms

A track record of successfully working with other product and business organizations, architecture, development, and QA to deliver high quality products and platforms

Strong organizational skills in task prioritization, effective time management, meeting facilitation,

conflict resolution, and risk identification/mitigation

Experience with an online retailer

Having shipped v1.0 products and supported it across multiple iterations including for key

customers would be ideal

Sales demo/traning experience especially for new product releases

Providing support for Product Marketing in terms of positioning, feature/benefit analysis and

build/buy/partner analysis

Background in the health industry a plus

MBA or MS in a technical discipline a plus
