This position will be responsible for a variety of Test operations, including test application direction and support, test system coordination and development, test automation strategy planning and implementation, and performance test strategy and support. Test applications are the systems used by the test teams to manage defect tracking, test cases and test reporting, etc. These are critical systems to be able to efficiently and successfully support our test model. Additionally a test automation that can be used across all test teams for all products needs to be developed leveraging the automation that exists in some teams and taking into consideration the varying degrees of skill sets among test teams. Performance testing is currently performed by a variety of teams and is not consistently managed, therefore a more robust and repeatable strategy needs to be developed and implemented.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Designs, implements and directs the activities of a software quality assurance function. Develops quality standards for company products, oversees the development and execution of software test plans and analysis of test results. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Establishes and maintains company policies relating to quality products and services. Facilitates product readiness assessments and approves all product releases. Directs pre-readiness and acceptance testing.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Master's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years related experience; 7 years prior supervisory experience preferred. Advanced computer software skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead and direct multiple projects simultaneously; ability to delegate work to subordinates; proven leadership ability.
Candidates for this position must possess a broad range of technical knowledge in order to provide the leadership to drive new direction and advance the organization in these different areas. Additionally it is critical they be able to lead teams, work with partner organizations, and interface with senior leadership. Good communication is critical.
