The Audiology Division in the Department of Communication Disorders at Central Michigan University (CMU) is recruiting for one Full-Time, Ten Month tenure-track Associate/Full Professor, beginning August 2013 or negotiable. The CMU Department of Communication Disorders offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and is located in The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions. Starting salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive benefits package and research support is available. Summer work opportunities exist.

Teaching. Teaching undergraduate and graduate students.

Research. Conducting research and scholarly endeavors leading to publications and external grants; directing doctoral graduate student research.

Service. Involvement in campus and community service; advising graduate students.

Administration. Coordinate the Au.D. degree program, represent the audiology division interests to the department and chairperson, determine semester schedules of audiology courses, chair audiology division meetings, coordinate graduate student funding and advising.

Required Qualifications

Earned doctorate degree (PhD or equivalent), eligibility for Michigan audiology license and effective oral/written communication skills are required. Expertise in one or more of the following areas: anatomy and physiology, diagnostic audiology, auditory disorders, hearing science. Other areas considered. Additional requirements for Professor rank: an established line of research, experience in securing extramural grants and/or contracts, previous rank as an Associate Professor or higher, eligibility for rank based on Department of Communication Disorders Tenure and Promotion guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred: CCC-A; teaching at university level; demonstrated experience in audiological practice and/or education; clinical supervision experience, and evidence of involvement with professional associations and organizations.

Desirable: Proficiency in use of technology; demonstrated commitment to diversity.
