The University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a Director of Campus Programs to manage a comprehensive department that includes two campus offices, over 300 student groups, Fraternity and Sorority Life (Greek Life), campus wide activities and programs, cultural programs, the UIC Radio, and the Student Activities Funding Committee (SAFC).

The Director plans, supports and implements student initiatives designed to increase student-learning and enhance the UIC student experience. In
addition, the Director assists the Executive Director of the Student Centers with policy development, implementation and enforcement; budget management; strategic-planning and annual goal-setting. The Director will manage a two million dollar budget and serve as the lead administrator for a nine member staff.

Master’s degree in education, communications, public administration or related discipline required or a Bachelor's degree with additional, relevant experience. Broad knowledge of social, cultural, educational and student development theory and application for college aged students. In depth knowledge of facilities and financial planning and four years event planning experience, preferably with an educational institution. Strong people and project management skills and strong persuasive negotiating abilities.

Experience managing and developing staff into high performing employees. Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with campus colleagues. Ability to skillfully manage a complex budget with numerous expense lines. The candidate will have a firm understanding of creating, implementing and marketing social, educational and cultural programs for a diverse student body. The candidate will also have a general understanding of commuter campuses.
