The position will be responsible for building a department that will have accountability for all CPE(Customer Premise Equipment) related technical issues. The role will strengthen the relationship with Time Warner Cable (TWC); improve communications between communications between the BHN operations teams and the vendors; coordinate testing with all technical and operational teams, to ensure that the CPE devices are managed in a proactive environment. The team will also work with key industry groups on specifications for future CPE devices.

Required Skills


Manages Video CPE resource allocation, monitoring performance and keeping updated status reports

Responsible for providing direction to vendors in delivering data, voice and video products for both the consumer and business customers.

Partner with the business units in translating business, engineering and operational requirements into technical standards that will support current and next generation on CPE devices.

Collaborate with other MSOs in writing the specifications and the on going evaluation of CPE products and initiatives.

Partner with the internal Supply Chain team and the vendors to ensure timely deliveries of all CPE related equipment.

Manages, interviews, selects, trains, promotes, schedules, motivates, evaluates, and disciplines CPE personnel.

Drive accountability with BHN’s CPE vendors on ensuring bug fixes and collaborate with TWC for code revision management.

Participate with TWC in the vendor selection process for CPE devices and manage the evolving vendor “approval list”.

Assist in the verifications of new technical requirements by adding in the test strategies and may be required to participate with industry advisory groups on standards.

Partner with the TWC’s CPE team and participate in industry forums.

Understand testing requirements for CPE. Lead a small group of engineers on CPE testing that could include testing from vendor, TWC, and multiple internal groups within BHN. Own end to end result and quality of test cycle.

Manage and facilitate post deployment support by leading engineers in open dialog with Field Operations, Warehouse and Care in collecting feedback on all matters CPE related. Share bug lists with operations; work with vendors on CPE troubleshooting, and build a CPE scorecard.

Assist in the development of key CPE related policies to include, CPE retirement, consumer owned CPEs, CPE data collections and creation of KPI’s on CPE’s field performance.

Required Experience

Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Management Information Systems or equivalent or 8 to 10 years of related experience

Requires 8 to 10 years of management experience

Must have a valid drivers' license

Ability to work on CPE project specifications, understand the technology behind CPE, have knowledge of the CPE supply chain, and understand the CPE lifecycle

Excellent communicator; verbal and written communications skills

Excellent analytical and trouble-shooting skills

Excellent organization, multi-tasking, prioritization, and teamwork skills

Ability to work effectively in a Video Engineering and Operations environment

Familiarity with various software packages including MS Office, Visio and Project

Ability to read, write and interpret schematics and designs of various topologies

Ability to solve problems with good initiative, sound judgment and independent decision making

Ability to successfully adapt to occasional priority adjustments

Knowledge and practice of management skills to include company policies and procedures

Working knowledge of safety procedures
