Position Title: Director of Human Resources, Bottom Dollar & IT
Location: Salisbury, NC
Responsible for planning, communicating, interpreting and directing all areas of human resources for Bottom Dollar Food and IT. Act as the single source of human resource support for respective DALT member and their teams. Extensive collaboration with other HR functions for the development and implementation of innovative concepts and strategies to support business plans. Ensure compliance with all federal and state legal requirements. Lead a team of Associate Relations (or Human Resource) professionals responsible for banner and shared services functions.
•Lead the creation, continuous development and implementation of systems and programs that develop organizational talent in partnership with Talent, Diversity, Organizational Development and Total Rewards
•Develop strategies and initiatives based on internal and external best practices to support the business strategies.
•Participate in the assessment of financial impact for all program, process and policy changes.
•Partner with peer directors to ensure all HR functions are strategically aligned to maximize impact in executing the business strategy.
•Company expert concerning all facets of HR – associate relations, talent acquisition, safety, benefits, compensation, organizational development. In partnership with peer directors, act as the technical resource for all programs and plans.
•Ensure timely effective communication and implementation of complex programs to all levels of the organization. Influence associate understanding and the perception of value through the quality of these actions and material provided.
•Drive associate engagement through ensuring associates understand all aspects of Compensation and Benefit programs.
•Monitor all federal and state legislation and regulations impacting associates ensuring programs and policies are in compliance with applicable laws.
•Select, manage and develop department associates who are influential and committed in their interactions and support of associates.
•Bachelor’s degree with 8-10 years business experience.
•Keen understanding of Delhaize America business strategy and culture.
•Excellent grasp of influencing principles and proven skills at with a wide variety of personal styles.
•Proven leadership abilities with a focus on development of teams and people.
•A combination of broad human resource, regulatory and business experience.
•Exceptional judgment and independence to make difficult and widely impactful decisions on behalf of the functional area and the overall organization.
•Experience in several different HR functions (AR, OD, Comp, Benefits, Talent, etc.)
•Advanced degree in human resources, business or management.
•Recognized certification in human resources to demonstrate mastery of subject matter.
•Experience in an operating role (retail, merchandising, etc.)
