Director of Market Development - CPG Solutions

We currently have an opening for an experienced Director of Market Development - Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG). The Director leads the market support and expansion in the CPG vertical. This role coordinates the collaboration of various departments (including Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Product) to strategically plan and execute category expansion. The Director is responsible for servicing multiple vertical-specific clients by leveraging our suite of products to ensure the highest level of client satisfaction.

Additionally, the Director collaborates with Product to provide deep category insights to support building new advertising solutions for marketers world-wide. The Director also develops products that help marketers in the retail sector both understand the impact of their marketing efforts, as well as improve its effectiveness in the future.

Responsibilities:
Provide experienced vertical expertise and strategy to manage Vertical Development

Collaborate with Product to build deep vertical-specific solutions to drive growth. Work with engineering and early-adopting clients to drive and tune implementation against the product road map. Manage products through initial launch and subsequent releases

Scale organization through identified repeatable solutions and best practice that are vertical-specific

Work from the customer backward to develop the best vertical products for marketing and analytic capabilities

Work closely with clients in specific verticals to articulate and create marketing objectives, conduct analysis, and make strategic business recommendations to build end-to-end solutions

Partner with Sales to build deeper and wider stories for clients in target verticals, as well as provide guidance as to the appropriateness of pitches

Present at vertical specific conferences & events

Act as an industry thought leader with vertical specific articles, etc.

Engage with senior management of our clientele as a ‘non-sales’ Rocket Fuel representative

Leverage relationships and experience to broker introductions and connect Sales and Product Marketing to industry leaders

Drive vertical-specific business development relationships as appropriate

Identify and articulate evaluation of new business opportunities based on vertical-specific client needs

Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics or other related field. Strongly prefer MS/MBA

Minimum of 7 years of experience in a vertical-specific marketing, development, or product capacity

Documented success in the specific vertical

Expert analytical and quantitative skills as well as experience applying those skills in the marketing domain

Understanding of basic statistics is required

Strong oral and written communication skills are critical

Experience in online advertising and web-based technologies

Experience partnering with sales, product and/or engineering teams
