The purpose of this position is to lead the implementation, documentation, embedding, maintenance and enhancement of the Risk and Compliance Framework throughout Americas and manage an agreed Risk and Compliance Assurance program to support Platts realize its objectives, protect its assets and reputation, and meet any regulatory and legal requirements.

Additionally, this role identifies weaknesses in process, organization structure or individual behaviors and escalates findings to management, making recommendations on the implementation of best practices in order to mitigate risk and ensure the organization is operating in a sound control environment.

Responsibilities:
Support the VP, Quality & Risk Management with the deployment and monitoring of Platts Enterprise Risk Management System. Assist senior management articulate the role it delivers and measure its value to Platts. Ensure and demonstrate that risk management is well integrated within the business structure and in the decision making process of the business.

Oversee the application of the Risk and Compliance policy framework across the region. Champion risk and compliance throughout the Americas and play a key role helping executive management with decision making by providing risk based dimension input and help management understand the different interrelationships between the different types of risk. Promote a strong risk culture throughout the region.

Review and validate the regional risk and compliance assessments and associated regular updates conducted by the Risk Managers to ensure the appropriateness of business coverage, risk coverage and ensure suitable sign-off has been obtained.

Lead risk assessments on major strategic projects

Lead on the development and enhancement of risk reporting within the region Ensure that effective risk governance and reporting mechanisms are in place. Direct the regional team vis-a –vis the collection, aggregation, summarization of risk MI and the design and delivery of risk and compliance reporting.

Support the Risk managers in conducting root-cause analysis for risk events and near misses.

Qualifications

Required:
Bachelor's degree in a business related subject, MBA preferred

Strong knowledge of the financial services/energy industry

Experience with dealing with regulatory bodies

Strong people management experience and development of team management

A minimum of 10 years of experience in Risk in financial services

Pragmatic approach to implementation , considering cost benefits

Strong interpersonal skills

Strong project management skills

Excellent communication skills; oral, written and presentation.

Ability to travel at least 10-20%
