The Director of Student Financial Aid will be responsible for planning, organizing and leading a comprehensive financial aid program. Responsibilities include providing oversight of financial aid office functions and personnel; ensuring full compliance with policies governing federal and state financial aid programs; integrating the financial aid process into enrollment management efforts that complement student recruitment and retention; developing and managing the financial aid process with ongoing analysis and reporting of relevant data; developing and using computerized information systems in financial aid administration; and a commitment to building a cooperative team approach. The director will play a major role maximizing use of the Datatel Colleague financial aid module.

Minimum requirements: A Bachelor’s degree and five years’ Financial Aid experience in a university setting with a strong knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs and regulations; demonstrated organizational, management, and supervisory achievement; and successful completion of an on-campus interview which may require a demonstration of the knowledge, skills, and other criteria cited. Additional qualifications: Strong computer, analytical, administrative, and effective interpersonal and team development skills; the ability to write and communicate clearly and accurately; demonstration, through past accomplishments and actions, the ability to support Mansfield University’s principles and values of Character, Scholarship, Culture, Service ( and the University’s strong student-centered vision and mission; knowledge of current issues in higher education technology and instructional methods, and an active commitment to diversity and inclusion. Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree in related field; experience with third party software; five-plus years Financial Aid and supervisory experience; and knowledge of Pennsylvania state financial aid regulations. Other conditions of employment include verification of all earned degrees through the receipt of original transcripts and an acceptable background check report.

Essential Functions:
Plan, organize, and administer a comprehensive Financial Aid program. Keep abreast of federal and state regulations. Provide interpretation of regulations for implementation and ensure regulatory and administrative compliance. Ability to supervise and provide direction for the Financial Aid office and staff. Counsel students and the public on the Financial Aid programs available, application procedures, requirements, etc. Work effectively with a wide variety of constituent groups including students, staff, faculty, and the public. Also required are keyboarding skills, verbal and written communication skills, math skills, computer skills, and the ability to operate general office equipment. May be required to lift, stand, walk, reach with arms, stoop, kneel, etc.

Job Status:
