DIRECTOR OF STUDENT HEALTH SERVICES
THIS IS AN EPA NON-FACULTY POSITION. SENIOR LEVEL POSITION IN STUDENT AFFAIRS.
WORK HOURS: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (WITH OCCASSIONAL WEEKEND/ADJUSTABLE/FLEXIBLE)
WORK SCHEDULE: MONDAY - FRIDAY (WITH OCCASSIONAL WEEKEND/ADJUSTABLE/FLEXIBLE)
The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership, management, and supervision of the assigned department to include staff development, staff supervision, planning and evaluation of programs and services; manage, hire, supervise, and evaluate department personnel. In addition this position will provide health care to student-patients and will supervise the work of the nurse practitioners and other health professional staff in Student Health Services as permitted by their scope of practice. The director is responsible for the development, planning, administration, and evaluation of medical/health programs. This is a senior level position in Student Health Services, which is accredited by the AAAHC, is a member of the management team for the Wellness Center and will work collaboratively with University Counseling, Campus Advocacy & Wellness Education Services, Housing and Residence Life, and other departments in Student Affairs on initiatives that promote a healthy and productive life for our students.
REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
A MEDICAL DEGREE (MD OR DO) REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION WITH A SPECIALIZATION IN FAMILY PRACTICE, OR OTHER RELEVANT MEDICAL SPECIALIZATION TO SUPERVISE CURRENT NURSE PRACTITIONERS (FAMILY PRACTICE SPECIALIZATION) WORK AND WHO IS LICENSED TO WORK WITH STUDENT POPULATION ON CAMPUS TO INCLUDE ADULTS; AND LICENSED TO PRACTICE MEDICINE IN THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA. COMPETENT AND COMMITTED TO PROVIDING MEDICAL CARE TO A DIVERSE STUDENT POPULATION WHO MAY PRESENT A WIDE VARIETY OF MEDICAL CONCERNS TO INCLUDE WOMEN'S REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH ISSUES, STIs, SUBSTANCE ABUSE, MINOR MENTAL HEALTH CONCERNS, DATING VIOLENCE, SPORTS INJURIES, ETC. EXPERIENCE IN SUPERVISING HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS/PROVIDERS. HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS (EMRS) AND HAVE GOOD COMPUTER SKILLS.
