The UCSF Foundation and the Office of University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) are responsible for fostering and strengthening the campus outreach efforts to UCSF constituents and for garnering private support for the campus. In raising private support, UDAR identifies, qualifies, solicits and stewards donors for the schools, medical centers, departments and programs on campus; for formal acceptance and administration of all private gifts to the university through The Regents or the UCSF Foundation; and for managing all alumni relations activities, campus support group activities and campus events. The UDAR office staffs the UCSF Foundation. The office is also responsible for the design and implementation of fundraising campaigns for UCSF.

Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Development, School of Nursing (SON) Alumni Development, the Director, Alumni Relations SON oversees alumni relations for the School of Nursing. This position directs the planning, organization, coordination and implementation of the SON alumni relations programs, and is a key contact between the campus and UCSF’s Nursing alumni population. Primary duties include the establishment and implementation of goals, strategies, activities, and programs that enable UCSF’s School of Nursing and the UCSF Nursing Alumni Association (NAA) to communicate effectively with and engage alumni, deploy them individually and collectively as important resources of the university, and serve alumni needs. The Director, Alumni Relations SON is responsible for establishing and maintaining comprehensive, service-oriented alumni programs for UCSF’s School of Nursing and the NAA. This role has an indirect reporting relationship to the Senior Director, UCSF Alumni Associations, insofar as they collaborate with other UCSF alumni officers and spearhead campus-wide programs and events.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree.
• Skilled at establishing strategic goals and project managing successful outcomes with internal and external constituencies.
• Expertise creating and integrating communications for varying audiences and mediums.
• Superior persuasive and overall public presentation skills.
• Consistently demonstrate appropriate judgment under highly stressful and highly public situations.
• Ability to balance donor and alumni interests with the needs of the school and university.
• Ability to relate to donors, alumni and high-ranking government and university officials.
• Skilled at managing project deliverables, deadlines and costs.
Physical Demands: requires sitting; standing; walking; climbing stairs; reaching up to shoulder height; reaching above shoulder level; carrying/lifting 20 pounds; pushing/pulling 60 pounds; gripping/grasping, fine/gross finger manipulation; repetitive movements of upper and lower extremities; differentiate color.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with University of California policies and procedures.
• Professional experience working in alumni relations, advancement and/or higher education areas.
• Professional experience managing volunteers, such as a Board of Directors or reunion committees.
