Director, Business Data Analyst-Other Markets

The Role

Humedica is seeking a highly talented and motivated individual to help build and support new market opportunities within the Corporate Development function of the business. The Business Analyst is a key member of the Humedica Team, responsible for driving customer value through retrospective, disease specific data sets and prospective longitudinal studies which leverage both clinical data and targeted interventions via opt-in provider outreach.

Our ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Electronic Health Record (EHR) data and analytic solutions, with demonstrated ability to build and present capabilities regarding the data, design data products and deliverables to address current and prospective consumers of the data (e.g. education and research companies, academic medical centers) and help drive new go-to-market efforts leveraging the data for other healthcare constituents as potential buyers.


There are three main parties with which the Business Analyst will interact – Client, Partners, Humedica Data Analytics Team:
  • Perform exploratory analysis on new types of data that will clarify the structure of the data and how it can be used to provide disease specific insights into the care that has been provided; Review and analyze Humedica data asset, to help “market” the data
  • Design and manage Corporate Development projects and present findings to clients; projects inc research and analytical studies (prospective and retrospective), EHR data file deliveries
  • Manage data analyst and collaborate with Data Analytic and Clinical Informatics Teams to scope out project designs, define objectives, ensure feasibility based on provider analysis, determine methods for fulfilling objectives
  • Provide guidance and QAQC for Analyst on project work as fulfilled in SQL
  • Present data capabilities, deliver guidance and strategic advice to prospective partners or clients (consumers of the data) using insights derived from the EHR data, to drive business growth
  • Engage in client or partner facing discussions to discuss client objectives and project specifications, provide updates related to progress for contracted work, and present analytic results
  • Generate meaningful summaries and topline reports with the data to inform sales and marketing materials including sales presentations and product glossaries
  • Write contracts for project deliverables including data use, research and services work
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication across teams to ensure proposals accurately represent reasonable deliverables, timelines are appropriate, contracts are profitable
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with Provider and Life Sciences divisions to help streamline data operations and ensure efficiencies in project fulfillment


The ideal candidate will have:
  • 4-5 years of statistical research and analytics with electronic health record (EHR) data, including SQL programming and analysis
  • 4-5 years of project management and client interaction experience with life sciences and/or healthcare research companies
  • Bioinformatics, Statistics, or Science degree (programming experience is not required)
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Additional Desirable Experience and Skills
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of clinical processes and vocabulary
  • Working knowledge of health information systems
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational database systems
  • Exposure to statistical packages (such as R or SAS) is a plus
