AddThis is looking for a Director of Business Development to acquire and grow premier web Publishers by prospecting, interacting regularly with key decision-makers, and providing continuous support through the decision making process, by positioning the value of the AddThis product portfolio. This includes social sharing, data and audience development. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with deep publisher relationships and experience selling solutions to them. The ideal candidate will be responsible for prospecting and securing new business, and play an integral role in growing our Publisher reach.

Primary Responsibilities

Prospect and close premier Web Publishers in using AddThis products (AddThis social sharing & tools platform, data science capabilities via XGraph; and audience targeting solutions).

Develop and maintain a deep understanding of a social media product strategy as it relates to publisher goals of content discovery, user engagement, and advertising revenue

Actively collect publisher feedback, and work internally with Product Development on enhancing AddThis products

Required Skills/Experience

Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience

10+ years of work experience in business development working with Web Publishers

Knowledge of Media/Ad sales, and social media tools,data management, and selling products/services to publisher including SaaS type offerings.

At least 6 years of experience working with clients in a client service/relationship management role

Existing network of publisher relationships to go prospect. Ideally Comscore ranked.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proven presentation skills

Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/clients

Team-player with superior interpersonal skills who can work closely with both technical development teams and end business users

Proven skills in MS Office tools (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, Visio)

Proven ability to work independently with little direction

Proven ability to be a self-starter

Proven experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
