This role is focused on delivering new demand to the OpenX Lift platform from large ad networks and other types of buyers in the US Western Region. The candidate must be able to quickly identify opportunities, source relationships and close deals, and also lead a team of Account Managers to grow demand from existing clients. The person will be expected to contribute ideas to the company’s overall demand acquisition strategy. The position includes elements of sales, account management and a basic knowledge of online ad buying and optimization. Prospect, close and grow relationships with large ad networks and other types of buyers within the US Western Region to accelerate demand into the OpenX Lift platform
Manage all facets of the sales cycle including prospecting, pitching, negotiating, closing, re-selling and up-selling to win new business and enhance existing client relationships
Meet and exceed quarterly revenue targets and business KPIs for the assigned region
Mentor Account Managers on sales strategy, techniques and execution
Coordinate and cross-sell clients that buy from multiple OpenX products, e.g. OpenX Market
Collaborate with the Demand team, Yield team, Ad Operations and others to continuously improve sales, account management and related processes for the OpenX Lift business
Gather client feedback, monitor competitive trends and develop ideas to improve OpenX products
Represent OpenX at industry events and other forums
BS/BA degree; MBA strongly desired
5-7 years experience in a sales or business development role in the online advertising industry
Proven track record of closing deals with buyers and meeting or exceeding sales targets
Strong knowledge of how media is bought, sold and delivered, especially display, mobile and video advertising, in both the traditional and programmatic channels
Strongly desired: Experience working with Ad Exchanges, DSPs/SSPs, Ad Networks, digital advertising agencies or ad servers; understanding of the emerging online RTB ecosystem
