BUILDING ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES MANAGER (DIRECTOR, ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES)
THIS IS A SPA POSITION. THIS POSITION IS BEING RECRUITED AT THE ADVANCED LEVEL.
WORK HOURS: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
WORK SCHEDULE: MONDAY - FRIDAY
The Director of Environmental Services is responsible for providing leadership planning and oversight for the Housekeeping, Grounds, and Sanitation Services at Winston-Salem State University. The incumbent will promote and support a team environment focused on exceptional customer service and optimum operation, integration and effectiveness, in the use of the university's resources. The Director will develop and cultivate positive working relationships within Facilities senior leadership and across the university, in support of departmental and institutional goals and objectives.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Proven success in budget development and contract management. Ability to provide vision and creative leadership to improve services. Ability to coordinate multiple complex operations in pursuit of a common goal. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including written, oral and presentation skills. Strong knowledge of best practices in university housekeeping, grounds and recycling. Excellent problem solving and customer service skills. A strong collaborator who will build positive and effective relationships with various constituencies across the campus. An understanding of, and commitment to, diversity. Experience in a growth environmental, new construction, rapid staff growth and continuous change.
REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY AND FOUR YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE AREA OF ASSIGNMENT, OF WHICH TWO YEARS ARE SUPERVISORY; OR EQUIVALENT
COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. DEGREES MUST BE RECEIVED FROM AN APPROPRIATELY ACCREDITED INSTITUTION. SOME POSITIONS MAY REQUIRE CERTIFICATION OR ELIGIBILITY FOR CERTIFICATION.
