The primary responsibility and scope of this position is to provide leadership, support and guidance to their Truckload associates and accomplish specific goals and business objectives. This includes developing and providing strategic and tactical plans, coaching and development of leadership, providing clear direction and corporate information sharing and delivering specific business results as dictated by the annual business plan. All this in keeping with the Value Triangle by providing a balance of customer, driver, and business. There is direct accountability for driver capacity, tractor capital, service, customer interaction and internal team leadership.
Detailed Description DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Develop business goals, establish action steps, and monitor results. Facilitate actions to improve performance as appropriate and with a focus on continuous improvement and business transformation. 2.
Identify, implement and monitor key business metrics to drive effective, low cost execution of results and superior customer service. 3. Communicate financial goals and business objectives to teams. 4.
Coach and develop managers and administrative associates who lead drivers and internal associates to achieve line of business results to improve key factor performance and profitability of business. Ensure appropriate training and development of leadership and associates. 5. Ensure the success of new business growth along with execution of service requirements of customers.
6. Build collaborative relationships with cross functional leaders from Sales, Customer Service, Dedicated, Intermodal, Finance and Capacity Development to create, communicate and implement department wide policies and standard operating procedures. Act as liaison to create constancy of purpose and consistency in actions across your areas of responsibility. 7.
Manage strategic departmental, continuous improvement and cross-functional projects, including conceptualization, creation of action plan and measurement of progress and results. 8. Participate in meetings related to driver or equipment capacity, account start-up and maintenance and other essential issues; provide input on related decisions, including direct accountability and influence on driver capacity, equipment capital outcomes and customer service. 9.
Facilitate and represent their line of business and field leadership team in meetings and initiatives. 10. Act as a liaison with other Schneider National departments, such as Customer Service, Dedicated, Finance and Capacity Development for their line of business field leadership team. 11.
Travel expectations: 25% - 40% Job Requirements EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Have 5-7 years successful Operations experience. 2. Have BS degree, preferably in Business or Transportation.
3. Proven leadership experience. 4. Excellent problem analysis skills.
