      Director, Program Management

      SUMMARY

      Directs the activities of product lines / projects / programs involving department or cross-functional teams. Focuses on delivery within prescribed time fame and funding parameters. Monitors the product line / program / project from initiation through delivery.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.

      Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for assignment of project personnel.

      Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.

      Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

      Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required; prepares project reports as appropriate.

      Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.

      Performs other related duties as required.

      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

      Manages subordinate supervisor(s) who supervises exempt and nonexempt associates. May also directly supervise exempt and nonexempt associates. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

      SUPERVISION RECEIVED

      Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Makes final decision(s) on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations' effective achievement of objectives.

      Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional, group or company operations.

      JOB COMPLEXITY Works on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible factors. Exercise judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

      EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

      Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university or Masters Degree; and 10 years related experience and PMP Certification; or equivalent combination of 10 years experience with 3 years at a director level of program management. Aerospace experience is required.

      LANGUAGE SKILLS

      Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

      MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

      Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

      REASONING ABILITY

      Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
