The Director, Research & Consulting will primarily work to retain, grow and attract business within a portfolio of about $1.3M. This position is a developmental role for building sales experience to expand business with existing clients and develop new business with new clients.
The Director is the designated client manager often working under the direction of other client management staff, and manages specific studies and research programs with existing or new clients.
Directors are capable of assessing business and research needs of clients and writing effective proposals. The Director serves as client management lead with research management and analytical staff.
Communicate with clients to understand their business objectives and research needs.
Collaborate with internal and external research experts to identify and select the most appropriate research methodology and techniques.
Develop innovative proposals and assist with sales presentations.
Formulate analysis and reporting plans.
Manage and supervise all phases of market research initiatives – from design through report delivery.
Design research questionnaires and moderator guides.
Develop and manage project schedules and budgets.
Conduct in-depth data analyses using traditional and advanced methods.
Interpret data, write reports and make actionable recommendations.
Ensure study deliverables are in line with study scope and client expectations.
Develop effective deliverables with oversight from other client management staff.
Make presentations to internal and external audiences– answering questions and instilling confidence.
Perform other duties as assigned to assist in departmental goals.
Participates in unit and company planning and initiatives as appropriate.
Participates in industry organizations via membership, attendance, etc.
Must have a Bachelor degree in a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience required providing market research and analytical services, preferably within industry specialized by Industry Group.
Experience in a “sell/do” market research environment, including direct client interaction and appropriate research design and fieldwork skills.
Proficiency in statistical packages used at Market Strategies.
Expertise in interpreting, and delivering the results of statistical analyses.
Maintains excellent research skills.
