To successfully position Transamerica as a thought leader in the healthcare arena through conducting research and educating the public on trends/issues that surround healthcare choices, including insurance coverage and the importance of individual and workplace health benefits.
* Provides forward-thinking leadership to establish the vision and direction for the organization's healthcare initiative including the long term image and reputation of the foundation while achieving the program's objectives
* Leads the Healthcare initiative through research, media-related activities, government affairs, key influencers, other 3rd parties & non-profit organizations and key stakeholders.
* Oversees the research and publications including but not limited to: focus groups, employer/worker surveys, ACA expert surveys and interviews with key influencers
* Orchestrates outreach activities with the media, government officials and policymakers, and the general public
* Serves as a spokesperson to the media, government and general public (includes interviews, presentations, webinars, and speaking at industry conferences)
* Manages timelines, deliverables, resources, and budget to ensure program runs smoothly and achieves objectives
* Leads a small team of employees and leverages the services of external consultants
* Complies with 501(c)(3) regulations
Bachelors degree in Business Administration (or related area); minimum 10 years experience in leading strategic and business planning process; forward-thinking leader capable of anticipating trends and directional shifts in the healthcare space with the ability to evolve programs and outreach activities to capitalize on the changes; articulate leader capable of working with diverse internal and external resources and speaking with multi-faceted audiences; spokesperson with national media relations experience; significant experience either conducting or directing primary and secondary market research activities; experience leading/overseeing large, complex, time-sensitive, cross-organizational projects and teams; experience developing and managing budgets; excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills (engenders confidence and creditability with all constituents). Masters degree or advanced degree is strongly preferred. Experience working with and/or managing a PR firm and speaking to the media is a plus.
Pay, Benefits, and Work Schedule:
Salary Range: $99,000 - $163,000
Job FLSA status: Exempt

Transamerica’s pay ranges are competitive and are based on the external labor market. An annual bonus opportunity may be available to regular employees.
Note: Job offer amounts are commensurate with applicant qualifications, level of experience and other compensable factors and are determined by hiring supervisors/managers.
