General Purpose: Manage projects primairly related to the delivery of expert witness testimony for a variety of types of commercial disputes including, primarily, intellectual property litigation (patent infringement, trademark infringement, trade secret missapropriation, and copyright infringement), breach of contract, employment disputes, and potentially others. Additional potential opportunity to manage and perform intellectual property valuation and forensic accounting/fraud investigation projects.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the expert testimony of senior testifiying experts
  • Interaction with clients in engagement management role
  • Oversight/management of project teams
  • Preparation and/or review of written reports, exhibits and demonstratives Oversight/performance of financial analysis and damage calculations
  • Oversight/performance of research
  • Development of staff members, both technically and professionally
  • Development of skills and technical expertise to facilitate delivery of expert testimony
  • Delivery of marketing and/or technical presentations and articles
  • Delivery of work product in timely fashion and within determined budgets
  • Pursuit of professional advancement through designations and continuing education
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to critically analyze financial statements and other financial documents
  • Understanding of the litigation process
  • Understanding of intellectual property litigation case law and theoretical frameworks for calculating damages
  • Ability to critique alternative arguments/opinions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with intermediate-level accounting, finance, and economic issues
  • Ability to work with changing client-imposed deadlines
Education and/or Training:
  • Five to ten years of experience in dispute-related professional servcies
  • Experience with intellectual property damage theories
  • 4 year degree, preferrably in finance, accounting, and/or economics
  • Designations a plus (CPA, CFA, ASA, CMA, CVA/AVA, CFFA, CFE)
